This course gives youths, ages 10 to 13, the knowledge, skills and confidence to care for infants and school-age children. Video, activities, hands-on skills training and discussion are used for a complete learning experience.  BLAST! is endorsed by the American Academy of Pediatrics.

Learn how to respond to emergencies and illnesses with basic first aid, rescue breathing and other appropriate care; make decisions under pressure; communicate with parents to learn household rules; recognize safety and hygiene issues; manage young children; how to choose safe and age appropriate toys and games, feed, diaper and care for infants. Cost of the class includes an easy-to-use handbook, snacks and lots of goodies to get you started babysitting!  You will need to bring a sack lunch--No lunch will be provided.
